Vocational Program
Universal Section 608 Certification Test Kit
Vocational/Technical School Program
Mainstream Engineering continues to offer the Universal Section 608 Certification test kit to wholesalers and refrigeration supply houses.
Mainstream now also offers testing, the QwikStudy™ guide, and our interactive study software for Universal Section 608 Certification to students at approved brick and mortar vocational schools.
To be an approved school, the school must meet all of the following criteria:
Accredited by a non-profit accrediting agency recognized by either the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or a state’s board of education. Most educational organizations accredited by an accreditation agency recognized by the USDE, CHEA, and/or a state board of education will be considered a “Vocational School” for the purpose of our program.
The following types of schools do not qualify as an approved school under Mainstream’s policy:
- Military training centers
- Programs that consist of online classes only
- Programs that do not have a building dedicated to classrooms and hands-on laboratory training labs. The program must have both a hands-on and laboratory portion of HVAC/R education.
- Programs accredited through an agency not recognized by the USDE, CHEA, and/or a state board of education
